4217 Chemical resistant pureepoxy coating

Product introduction

4217 is a kind of two-component epoxy coating cured by amine adduct with excellent chemical resistance. lt can withstand long-term immersion of the majority of oil products.

Recommended applications

It is widely used as lining coating of chemicals tanks. it can also be used in slop tanks, salt water tanks and mud pot rooms.

Recommended DFT：125 μm (corresponding WFT=190 μm)

Theoretical quantity required (125 μm)：5.28 m² /L

SG：1.45 kg/L (SGs are slightly different for different colors)

Flash point：30°C

Construction conditions

Remove the contaminants(e.g.oils and greases) withappropriate detergent on substrate surface, and wash away thesalts and other dirt with (high-pressure)fresh water.

New steel: Sand blasting to Sa2.5 and Medium(G) surfaceroughness(ls0 8503-2).

Use welding, flame cutting or hot work to correct the burnedparts: Remove the welding slags and spatters, grind and thenpolish it to St3 with an elastic grinding wheel.

When painting, the substrate must have a temperature >3°Cabove the dew point.The environment should be <85%RH.

Use this product only when the painting and curing can becarried out normally at above 0'c. The painting surface mustbe clean and dry.

Painting methods：airless spraying/air spraying/brush coating/ roller coating

Diluent：103 diluent

Dilution：0-5% of the coating weight, The actual addition may be adjusted according to the field painting method

Nozzle size：0.43-0.53 mm

Spraying pressure：15-20 Mpa

Film thickness：Non-recommended film thickness may be adopted according to the purpose andarea. But this will change the coating rate and affect the drying time andrepainting interval. The normal dry film thickness of a single coat is: 100-200μm.

Packing specifications：Component A:13.5L,Component B:4.5L

Shelf life：Base material: 12 months, Curing agent: 24 months(stored in a cool and dry indoor environment without sunlight)
