1837 Zinc-rich epoxy coating

Product introduction

1837 is a two-component amine-cured zinc-rich epoxy coatingIt contains special zinc powder activating components that willprovide excellent cathodic protection for steel. This productmeets the requirements of Type ll, Level 2 in SSPC Paint-20(2019)and Part 5 of ls0 12944(2018).

Recommended applications

This product can be used as a general long-lasting anti-corrosionprimer in severely corrosive environment and widely used onvarious steel surfaces.

Volume solids：65±2%

Proportion：8.5 :1.5 (volume ratio)or 15 :1(weight ratio)

Mixture's pot life：4h (20℃)

Full cure：7d  (20℃)

Recommended DFT：60 μm (corresponding WFT=92 μm)

Theoretical quantity required (60 μm)：10.8 m² /L or 4.7 m² /L

SG：2.3 kg/L (SGs are slightly different for different colors)

Flash point：25℃

VOCs：330 g/L

Construction conditions

Remove the contaminants (e.g.oils and greases) withappropriate detergent

Sand blast to Sa2.5

Surface roughness:Medium(g)(lSO 8503-2)

The substrate must have a temperature >3°C above the dewpoint. The environment should be <85%RH.

Use this product only when the painting and curing can becarried out normally at above -10°c. The painting surface mustbe clean and dry.

It is suggested that the temperature should not exceed 40°Cduring painting.

Painting method

Painting methods：airless spraying/air spraying/brush coating/roller coating

Diluent：103 epoxy diluent

Dilution：0-5% of the coating weight, The actual addition may be adjusted according to the field painting method

Nozzle size：0.43-0.53 mm

Spraying pressure：25 Mpa

Film thickness：Normal dry film thickness of a single coat: 40-100μm. The thickness of paint film must be under strict control during painting.
The maximum dry film thickness should not exceed 200μm.
